Activities in and around Kayaköy


Kayaköy has some magnificent and picturesque walks suitable for all levels.   Perhaps one of the most notorious walks from Kaya takes you from Kayaköy to the pictorial beach of Öludeniz.  This 6km walk starts from the ghost village of kayaköy taking you through the ruins and deserted houses.  Marvel at some impressive views ascending the stone village before your descent over the mountains onto the coastal path down to Olüdeniz.  There are many other walks from Kaya including to Fethiye and Gemiler beach taking advantage of the spectacular vista and natural beauty this stunning area has to offer.

One of the most renowned walks – the Lycian Way officially starts in Ovacik and finishes in Antalya, this 509 km walk is a 25 day walk way marked footpath along the coastal path of Lycia, acclaimed as one of the top 10 distance walks in the World.

The surroundings areas of Kayaköy provide an excellent backdrop for some remarkable walks, with its fine beaches, mountain villages and natural flora and fauna. 

Horse Riding

Horseback riding is an ideal way to enjoy the area and surrounding pine scented forests of Kayaköy, and is ideal for the whole family.  Instructor led, horses and ponies are provided and suitable for all riding levels.  Take pleasure in this great activity experiencing the serenity of the countryside, marvelling at the colourful fragrant flowers and breathing the fresh mountain air.


Paragliding is reputedly renowned to be the best site for paragliding in Turkey, even perhaps the world.  With spectacular views over the blue lagoon of Oludeniz, home to one of the most photographed beaches in the world, the tandem paragliding flight offers an exhilarating experience of a lifetime. 

Boat Tours

12 Islands

One of the most popular days out is a boat tour around the beautiful bay of Fethiye – The 12 Island Boat tour.  The 12 Islands are a group of Islands between the Fethiye and Gocek bays.   Visit some of the Islands such as the remarkable cove of the Cleopatra Baths and Kızıl Ada (Red Island) Take to the seas and cruise the azure waters of the Fethiye Bay and enjoy the scenic panorama of this breathtaking and beautiful coastline.


Oludeniz Boat Tour

Discover by boat some of the hidden treasures of Oludeniz.  Along this stunning coastline, Butterfly valley can be found, a beautiful bay where rare species of butterflies can be found along with a cascading waterfall.  Visit Blue cave, a natural cave with sparkling turquoise water where one can entertain a spot of snorkelling.   St Nicholas Island, where an abundance of ruins and the historical church can be visited, is reputed to be the home of Father Christmas!   A relaxing cruise with a delicious b.b.q served on board.


Rafting in Turkey is one of the most exhilarating outdoor sports and Turkey has some excellent rivers where one can experience the delights of white water rafting.  Rafting through the rapids of the Dalaman River, the beauty of this sport is that no previous experience is needed as all raft boats have a professional guide on board taking full control.   All equipment is provided, however participants must be able to swim.  Prepare to get Wet and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds you as you enjoy this thrilling adventure!  Grade 3-4

Scuba Diving

The crystal and azure waters of Fethiye provides some spectacular diving for both the beginner and the more experienced and certificated diver.  The Mediterranean and Aegean seas offer a number of impressive calm and shallow reefs, caverns and tunnels along with a multitude of marine life. PADI open water courses are also available.
